Which Injuries Are Covered?

It is best to confirm your individual situation with Dr. Pedlow, your state, and your company.

Typically, an injury is covered, without regard to fault, if it was:

  • Sustained in the course and scope of employment
  • While furthering or carrying on the employer’s business
  • May include injuries sustained during work-related travel

Injuries that may not be covered include:

  • Those as the result of the employee’s horseplay
  • Willful criminal acts
  • Self-injury
  • Intoxication from drugs or alcohol
  • Voluntary participation in an off-duty recreational activity
  • A third party’s criminal act if directed against the employee for a personal reason unrelated to the work
  • Acts of God

Please bring the following information, when possible, to your appointment:

  • All radiology studies pertaining to your current injury, including MRI, CT scans, and plain X-rays.
  • All medical records involving your injury, including initial and recent evaluations by other physicians, consultations, operative reports of previous surgery, EMG and nerve conductions study reports.
  • All other information as requested under “Scheduling an Appointment“.

Urgent / Emergent Referrals

If you would like to request an urgent evaluation, call (617) 277-9300 and ask to speak to Dr. Pedlow or the Physician Assistant.

Elective Non-Urgent Referrals

To refer a patient for an elective office consultation, give us a call at (617) 277-9300, or request a worker’s comp appointment through our secure online form. The appointment can be scheduled with the assistance of one of the members of our office staff, or you may request to speak with the Nurse Practitioner if further discussion is desired. Dr. Pedlow specializes in spine treatment for the injured worker, and sees patients from throughout New England including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.
