Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is the third oldest general hospital in the United States and the first teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. This world-renowned medical center offers sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic care in virtually every specialty and sub-specialty of medicine and surgery.

U.S. News & World Report has ranked MGH among the top five hospitals in the nation since rankings began, most recently #4 overall. In 2024, MGH was ranked the 7th best hospital in the U.S. for Orthopaedic Surgery.

In addition to outstanding orthopedic care and facilities—including some of the most advanced operating rooms in New England—patients at MGH have access to a vast network of expert physicians in all medical and surgical specialties.

Dr. Pedlow is a distinguished spine surgeon affiliated with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He formerly served as the Chief of the Orthopaedic Spine Service at MGH, where he helped establish the hospital’s first comprehensive Orthopaedic Spine Center. Over nearly two decades, Dr. Pedlow played a key role in advancing surgical techniques, spine tumor treatment, and orthopedic resident education. He remains actively involved as a member of the teaching faculty at both MGH and Harvard Medical School, contributing to the continued excellence of orthopedic care and training at this prestigious institution.
